Progress Monitoring: NCII's New Guidelines for Measuring Growth on IEPs

watch now

The requirements for measuring growth on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) have changed dramatically since the Endrew F. Supreme Court case ruling. As a result, The National Center on Intensive Intervention (NCII) has updated their guidelines for effectively monitoring progress on IEPs.

This session, delivered by Classworks and Dr. Brigid Bright,  Director of the Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) discusses the December 2022 guidelines and how to effectively implement compliant progress monitoring for IEPs. We pair best practices with practical application in the district.

We cover:

  • Today’s expectations for measuring IEP-related growth
  • Single skill (Mastery Measurement) vs. Curriculum-based Measurement
  • Five common mistakes people make when selecting a valid measure
  • How to make the shift to compliant progress monitoring
