According to the National Center on Intensive Intervention, Data-based individualization, or DBI is a research-based process for individualizing and intensifying interventions for students with severe and persistent learning and behavioral needs.
The DBI process is proven to work, but it can be a challenge to implement, especially with the increase in the number of students who need added supports and the rising teacher shortage.
