CASE Endorses Classworks® Special Education Resources

July 14, 2016

PEACHTREE CORNERS, Georgia

The Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE) has officially re-endorsed Classworks®, a comprehensive K-8 assessment and instruction solution. Classworks’ special education resources include screening, assessment, and instruction tools to support the needs of both special educators and exceptional students.

“The CASE Executive Committee once again unanimously agreed to endorse Classworks,” said Luann Purcell, Ed.D., executive director of CASE. “The depth, flexibility, and comprehensiveness of the Classworks program helps educators provide early and ongoing interventions for students. There is no question that Classworks helps teachers successfully address the inherent challenges of special education.”

Classworks, originally endorsed in 2010 and re-endorsed in 2013, underwent a rigorous evaluation of criteria again in 2016, including performance in field tests, marketability and feasibility, customer satisfaction, and enhancement of professional practices advocated by CASE. A division of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), CASE is an international professional educational organization that shapes policies and practices which impact the quality of education.

“The success my students experience using Classworks boosts their self-confidence, opportunities in the general education setting, and feeling of acceptance by their peers,” says Lynne Baker, special education teacher at Eufaula Elementary School. “My students have diverse learning needs. Classworks equalizes the playing field without me running a marathon to come up with individualized activities.”

With Classworks, educators have access to individualized instruction targeted to the unique needs of special education students. Students work at their own level and pace. Teachers receive immediate and ongoing feedback to monitor progress, customize instruction, and develop measurable goals for Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
